With recent developments it appears that loading custom firmware on the PS3 may not be far off. I've collected a few official firmwares that I thought people might want to regress to/use as a basis for CFW.

Hacking The Xbox 360 For Dummies Info: Introduction The Xbox 360 DVD-ROM drive firmware hack is currently the only modification or hack available for the Xbox 360. The firmware hack allows you to play properly created backups of Xbox 360 games. The firmware hack does NOT allow homebrew programs to run and does NOT bypass region protection. If a video game is locked to a particular region, then it will only play on an Xbox 360 of that same region. Before jumping into this modification, it is a good idea to learn how this hack works. In the most basic form, an Xbox 360"s game protection comes from two security measures. First of which is encryption.

C4E released the iXtreme LT+ v2.0 CFW for Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943 (’Samsung’), Philips-BENQ/LiteOn VAD6038/1650V (’BenQ’) and Philips-LiteOn VAD6039/DG-16D2S (’Fat LiteOn’) drives in association with Team Jungle & Team Xecuter (the LT+ v2.0 for ‘Slim LiteOn’, ‘Fat/Slim Hitachi’ have NOT been released yet). And he also released the 0800 v3 (’PC ripping FW’) for ‘BenQ’ and ‘Fat LiteOn’.

With recent developments it appears that loading custom firmware on the PS3 may not be far off. I've collected a few official firmwares that I thought people might want to regress to/use as a basis for CFW.
Multi-touch gestures OS-wide.
A few new ways to run applications in the background multitasking.
Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient. We haven?t had this broken down, but we can only hope for improved notifications, a refreshed homescreen, etc.
The update will supposedly be available for only the iPhone 3G and 3GS, but will ?put them ahead in the smartphone market because it will make them more like full-fledged computers? more than any other phone to date. Everyone is ?really excited.?
The last piece of information is the most vague, but apparently there will be some brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.
Only compatible with the 3Gs phone, this is what I used to update my phone. Straight from Apple.

RNS-E and MMI are the hardest to make, so make sure you have one of proper DVD writers (RENESAS chipset works best - www.videohelp.com)
