A ring of planetary systems collectively called the Defense Races prevents the enemy from entering the heart of the Confederation, where human colonies are located. The production of ships that can fend off the Gi’Kan takes place on these systems, as the main task of the Defense Races is to intercept and eliminate the Gi’Kan.
