New Play Control: Mario Power Tennis opens with Mario and Luigi beating Wario and Waluigi. The sore sports resort to vandalism and soon have the Buckethead police after them. Then by a stroke of luck, Wario and Luigi fall into Bowser’s hands (figuratively speaking). Bowser, too wanting revenge on the Mario Bros, helps them train and prepare to crash the Finals Tournament at the Peach Dome with Bob-ombs (living explosives).

Mario Power Tennis gives you a whole array of tennis matches to play. You start off with about 18 players (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Yoshi, Bowser Jr., Koopa Troopa, Boo and Shy Guy)–each of whom has his or her own strength. They may be all-around good players, speedy, powerful, tricky, defensive, or have technique. You win the game by scoring enough winning shots according to the rules of that particular event. The winning point total is predetermined.

Mario Power Tennis Wii can be played in one of three basic modes: Minigame, Exhibition or Tournament Mode, which is the central mode of the game. In Tournament Mode you can play singles or doubles but must win them in order to unlock the 4 unlockable players (Fly Guy, Paratroopa, Wiggler and Petey Piranha). In the Exhibition Mode you can have up to 4 multiplayers.
