I patched it with the Wake of the Gods mod and the HD Mod, made a custom loader background and high res icon, then ported it to OSX using the awesome CX EX Central app from http://portingteam.com. This port of HoMM 3 is 10.7 lion compatible and should run on most graphics systems including GMA

Highly recommended if you like fantasy, turn based strategy, exploration, monster battling, empire building or all of the above!

*** IMPORTANT ***

For those who can't get the port to work at all, you need to have the relevant CX wrapper engine installed. The one this wrapper uses is called CX EX Carbon.

If you right click on the HoMM 3 HD.app and go to "view package contents" there is a copy of the CX EX Settings app in there. That will allow you to automatically install the engine. In the settings app, go to:

"Advanced Settings > CXEx Engine > Change" and install the required engine. The one you want is CX EX Carbon. This will download and install the engine to your system.
