Windows Embedded Standard 7 - is a fully komponentizirovannaya version of Windows 7, which allows developers to create commercial and consumer devices to run thousands of existing applications and drivers, Windows 7.

To reduce the amount of memory device that takes an operating system, you can select only the most necessary drivers, services and applications. Use only the necessary components can reduce development time, reduce the size of the operating system and reduce the cost of equipment. The minimum size of the loaded kernel is only 40 megabytes. Windows Embedded Standard 7 is used in devices such as thin clients and multifunctional printers.
Currently, the latest version of the current embedded systems based on Windows is Windows Embedded Standard, which is a componentized version of Windows XP Professional SP3. It was released in late 2008, after which Microsoft announces the development of next-generation OS.
