During the Second World War, Adolf Hitler was planning to undermine the British economy through the introduction into circulation large number of forged pounds. To bring the plan into execution, the prisoners of concentration camps were selected the most talented printmakers, printers, engravers and painters. Despite some serious problems, they managed to print 140 million counterfeit banknotes. However, they were not destined to overrun England. With the arrival of U.S. troops and the final surrender of Germany, counterfeit money and printing presses were destroyed by the Nazis, to cover all traces of the impending operation. The program tells the story of the development plan and its implementation.
