The Da Vinci Code has so much to answer for, having opened the floodgates to supposed Bible-mystery documentaries like this one, which offers insights at the level of "Jesus is one of the most famous figures in history". You don't say. With the aid of a handful of limp dramatic reconstructions featuring Jesus looking dreamy under olive trees, the programme looks at the implications of the discovery by Israeli archaeologists in 1980 of the contents of an ancient tomb. Apparently, one of the inscriptions uncovered by the team pointed to the burial of the mortal remains of Jesus after the Crucifixion. The programme does a lot of to-ing and fro-ing between those who think that this was a distinct possibility and those who think it's nonsense. And you might feel a bit short-changed to be told at the end: "Maybe we will never know the truth."
