Here is the 4.0 Beta 1 of the Ipod Touch Firmware for the 2g Ipod. Included is Redsn0w 0.8 for your jailbreaking needs.

Remember if your 2g Ipod is already jailbroken to restore it to OEM 2g or 3g firmware before jailbreaking to avoid any problems. You can do so buy accessing your ipod from itunes and holding down shift when you click restore...this allows you to select saved firmware.
